embroidery, 2008 -2020

Pissed at the Trump Administration, as all intelligent human beings are and should be, in 2020 I decided to pick up my hoops and thread and embroider my own version of the Bayeux Tapestry. These four panels took about four months, during which time I learned about the Tiny Pricks Project, curated by Diana Weymar. I opted to donate the panels to this collection, as my overzealous embroidery left me with a repetitive strain injury that has put a temporary pause on my ability to pursue this wonderful artform.

Laploom Weavings, 2018 - present

I began weaving in 2017 after taking a class at local craft funhouse Assembly PDX. The timing coincided with my work at the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation, a wonderful job where I was fortunate to have met Clarissa Rizal. She inspired me to give this soothing, slow and gratifying practice a go. Because I run out of wall space, I make some available for sale on my Etsy site.
